This is the method I used to learn over 50 vocab words a day and retain nearly all of them. Through repeating 3-4 times on a standard piece of lined paper per day, you'll learn about 48-64 words. I don't recommend you try more than 3-4 of these per day (about 30-45 minutes), but once you're comfortable with the method you can safely increase it to around 100 words per day. It is also important in life and even reading comprehension and reading speed. To remember vocabulary it is the principle of seeing images for the pictures. For example to memorize the SAT vocabulary here Neophyte = beginner You would imagine a 'knee fight' and in audience bees drinking gin. So to memorize vocabulary you take the word you want to memorize and the definition and see them together in a combined image. Spurious = possible but probably false So here I turn the word spurious into a picture being a cowboy's spur and probably false for me is Lochness Monster. I combine the two by seeing the Lochness Monster wearing cowboy spurs. So now I remember spurious = possible but probably false. We are looking for stocks that we expect will move in a predictable direction. We want to take a position with a predefined stop level and profit target. Sounds easy right? In a lot of ways it is. But there are literally thousands of different strategies for trading the market. Every trader has a unique approach to trading. Our goal is to teach you our strategies. I have developed a series of profitable trading strategies for beginners. Our Trading Courses focus on the most fundamental aspects of a successful trade. // Chart Patterns After you understand risk management and proper stock selection, we teach you how to find stock patterns on charts. These patterns are how we base our risk and reward. We look for chart patterns that have well defined areas of support and resistance. We will use previous support levels as our stop price, or our risk, and we look at previous resistance areas as our initial profit target, or our reward. If the profit vs loss ratio is 2:1 we will take the trade. I teach both day trading strategies and swing trading strategies. For day trading we focus primarily on 5min charts while swing traders focus more on daily charts. The patterns in general are the same. I teach traders how to find patterns in real-time including Bull Flags, Bear Flags, Flat Tops, Flat Bottoms, and Rubber Band Reversal Setups. // Trading Strategies Learning risk management, proper stock selection, and chart patterns is important, but those alone don’t create a trading strategy. A trading strategy requires details on the time of day you take these trades, what type of stocks you like to trade, what percentage to success you expect. All our students are required to papertrade and prove to me that they can trade on a percentage of success that is high enough to justify real trading. If you can’t make money in a demo account, you have no business trading a real account. We have saved students hundreds of thousands of dollars by encouraging paper trading while they are learning. The market will be here for a long time to come. The important thing for you right now is to build up the skills to trade the market successfully. You will learn that once you possess the skills to consistently make $20.00/day all it takes to make $200 is larger share size. Then all it takes to make $2000 is again, larger share size. The hardest part is being consistently green just $20/day. So that is our initial target for all of our students. Profitable trading 4/5 days per week for at least 3 months. Find the motivation to absorb information and improve retention. Step 1: Skim info Skim information slowly at first to remember what you read. Never use this as a primary means of absorbing information, but always as a preparation for gathering key points. Tip Machines that train the eyes to scan and select meaning and context rather than picking out the smaller letter arrangements help speed reading and deepen concentration. Step 2: Read word groups Read word groups rather than single words by developing the habit of snapping the eyes across or down the page. Step 3: Categorize and associate Categorize and associate information you read with other knowledge in your life, to establish familiar cues for retrieving facts. Step 4: Take notes Take succinct notes on significant facts and information when reading books or studying for exams. Say the words aloud to hear yourself and help commit it to memory. Repeat the process. Step 5: Study with purpose Study with purpose and confidence, interacting with the material. Compare and contrast what is being memorized and paraphrase for simplified understanding. Grill yourself with questions to reinforce the lesson. Tip Avoid lazily highlighting everything. Highlight key passages, words, or phrases. Step 6: Visualize to recall Visualize faces with names that have to be remembered. Link important dates in your assignment mentally by picturing significant calendar events, birthdays, or holidays near the newly learned dates. Step 7: Keep single focus Concentrate with purpose on one thing at a time -- a paragraph, a sentence, or a word. Disallow any distractions, focusing on the meaning, and test to make sure you have it before moving on. Step 8: Pick the time of day Pay attention to the times of day when you're most alert and schedule your study time accordingly. Work in short bursts at first to expand attention and grasp. This is Jack from tofluency.com and in this English lesson, we're going to look at the phrasal verb 'grow up'. So, firstly I'm going to show you how I used this phrasal verb in a different video, and then I'm going to give you plenty of examples. So, let's have a look at the clip now: However, the most popular sport in the UK is football. I grew up playing football, I grew up watching football... In the video I said, however, the most popular sport in the UK is football. I grew up playing football, I grew up watching football. So, to grow up doing something means to spend your childhood doing something. I spent my childhood playing and watching football, therefore, I can say I grew up playing and watching football. Here is another example: I grew up in Preston, Lancashire. So, I spent my childhood in Preston, Lancashire. Here is another example: growing up in New York was tough. Now, this example looks at using grow up in a different way, okay, are you ready? He needs to grow up. In this case, it means this person needs to be more mature - to act more like an adult. So, you can use it in this way as well. Here is a quote that uses grow up: "We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public." "We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public." This is a quote by Brian White. Now, my question for you in this video is this: where did you grow up? Where did you grow up? This is the method I used to learn over 50 vocab words a day and retain nearly all of them. Through repeating 3-4 times on a standard piece of lined paper per day, you'll learn about 48-64 words. I don't recommend you try more than 3-4 of these per day (about 30-45 minutes), but once you're comfortable with the method you can safely increase it to around 100 words per day. Jane taught math at U. Mass Lowell. For those of you in high school, this is far more important than my piano tutorials! Added English subtitles so you can use the translation option. This is the most basic lesson on trigonometry. Definitions of the 6 trig functions are given with examples, ending with an extremely useful table for calculus students (11:08). For those who thought I made a mistake because you do not know that 1/sqrt2 = sqrt2 /2, I finally made a separate lesson for you! Much Ado About Square Root Two http://youtu.be/DuUGg0nkWy0 https://sites.google.com/site/pianoandmathtutorials/math-tutorials Background Music: Two Bach/Petzold Minuets The study of trigonometry (as well as any mathematical subject) should be based on a solid understanding of the basic ideas, and memorization should be kept to a minimum. For that reason we oppose using the now fashionable "sohcahtoa" approach to trigonometry, which obscures the fundamental ideas. YouTube rep advised me me to add a paragraph to each upload. Here it is: Jane, a retired university math teacher, started this volunteer project in April 2009. Positive feedback from wonderful viewers worldwide keeps her motivated. Jane is a strong advocate of reading music. She made unconventional sight-reading lessons that simplifies reading music. https://sites.google.com/site/pianoandmathtutorials/
